History

Steeped in history, Brook Stud was founded in 1926 by Mr Archie Falcon and then leased from 1932 to Sir Richard Garton.  In 1934 Sir Alfred Butt purchased the Stud and, after his death was run by his son, Sir Kenneth Butt who bought recognition to the Stud.

His best winners bred/raised were:  Petition (1944-1964), winner of the Eclipse Stakes and champion sire, notably of the brilliant classic-winning filly Petite Etoile (1956-1975), she won the 1000 Guinease and the Epsom Oaks as well as consecutive running's of the Coronation Cup.

Petition stood his entire career (1949-1964) at Brook Stud.  Steady Aim (Epsom Oaks), Fraise Du Bois (Irish Derby) and the champion fillies Gwent, Hecla, Mange Tout, Rose Dubarry and Shebeen.

In 2002 the stud was bought and is currently run by it's present owners Mr Dwayne Woods and Mr Wendyll Woods.
